Nellore: Union Minister of State for Health Panabaka Lakshmi on Thursday inaugurated the road overbridge (ROB) constructed at a cost of Rs. 32.50 crore at Venkateswarapuram in the city. Foundation stoneShe laid the foundation stone for laying service roads estimated to cost Rs 4 crore. Transport Minister Kanna Lakshminarayana, who accompanied Ms. Lakshmi, performed the ‘bhoomi puja’ for the four-lane road proposed from Maganti Subbarami Reddy statue to Madras Bus Station centre. The road was being laid at a cost of Rs. 2.90 crore. Loans distributedLater, Mr. Lakshminarayana distributed loans worth about Rs. 6 crore to the self-help group (SHG) women under ‘paavala vaddi’ scheme at Gurram Babaiah Kalyana Mandapam. About 968 SHGs would benefit under the scheme, said the Transport Minister. Information and Public Relations Minister Anam Ramnarayana Reddy, Zilla Parishad chairman Kakani Goverdhan Reddy, MLA Anam Vivekananda Reddy, Collector K. Ram Gopal and others attended the programmes.
