Shahdara murder mystery solved

Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: A 24-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly killing the husband of his paramour at Shahdara here earlier this month.

The body of Mustaq Ahmed was found behind Ambedkar College on October 9. His throat had been slit with some sharp weapon. Investigations led the police to zero in on Sadiq, who they found had been taking keen interest in the developments in the case.

During interrogation, Sadiq broke down and purportedly confessed that he had an illicit relationship with Mustaq’s wife. He had on several occasions allegedly told Mustaq to divorce his wife so that he could marry her. On the fateful day he took Mustaq out for a drinking session and, when the latter got drunk, allegedly slit his throat with a knife.
