Three killed
NEW DELHI: Three persons, including an eight-year-old girl, were killed in separate road accidents in the Capital during the past 24 hours.
A truck ran over a 22-year-old vegetable vendor, Sandeep Upadhyaya, at Moti Nagar around 7-30 a.m. on Wednesday. The truck driver fled leaving the vehicle behind. The accident took place when Sandeep was going to buy vegetables.
A young man was killed and 18 sustained minor injuries in a collision between a mini-truck and a tanker at Bhikaji Cama Place in R.K. Puram around 3 a.m. The police said they were trying to establish the identity of the deceased.
Yet another accident was reported in West Patel Nagar around 9-45 p.m. on Tuesday when an Army vehicle knocked down eight-year-old Mamta, who was on her way to a temple in the locality.
Angry area residents blocked traffic alleging that the police were trying to protect the driver.
