NEW DELHI: A rally of de-notified nomadic tribes was organised at Jantar Mantar here on Wednesday to demand early implementation of the Renke Commission report giving facilities and concessions to the community across the country.

The rally, attended by people belonging to various de-notified nomadic tribes from across the country, was organised under the leadership of the Member of Parliament from Yavatmal, Harising Rathod, who is himself a Banjara. “Fifteen crore people of our community have been suffering for the past 60 years. They are not getting the benefits of development. After neglect for so many years, the Renke Commission constituted for uplift of the community recommended various measures for its welfare such as a separate budget and reservation in services and education. I urge the Government to implement the report without any further delay,” said Mr. Rathod addressing the rally.
