Summons over false certificate

NEW DELHI: A court here has summoned an Oath Commissioner for attesting the affidavit of a person who was not in the country on that day on a complaint by the Delhi High Court Registrar (Administration). Metropolitan Magistrate Sanjay Bansal said: “The accused has prima facie committed offence under Sections 197 (issuing or signing false certificate) and 199 (false statement made in declaration which is by law receivable as evidence) of IPC.”
