Sajjan triumphs

Bangalore: Sajjan Bopanna tamed veteran D. Raj Kumar 83-45, 76-21, 52-63, 29-82, 64-16, 36-63, 65-43, 62-20 in the final and claimed the title in the State senior-ranking snooker championship which concluded at the KSBA Hall, here on Wednesday.

Though Bopanna led 2-0, Raj Kumar staged a valiant fight back to stretch him and in the process also recorded the highest break in the tie with a 64 in the fourth frame.

In the play-off for the third place, M.S. Arun defeated B.V. Srinivasamurthy 61-31, 24-64, 81-8, 74-31.

The final placings: 1. Sajjan Bopanna, 2. D. Raj Kumar, 3. M.S. Arun, 4. B.V. Srinivasamurthy, 5. Balaji Reddy, 6. Ajay Bhushan, 7. Vinay Katrela , 8. I.M. Manudev.
