Ground Jet flights, demands CITU

Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI: The Centre of Indian Trade Unions on Wednesday termed “illegal and atrocious” the dismissal of 1,000 employees by Jet Airways and sought the government’s intervention while suggesting that all flights of the company be grounded pending withdrawal of the sack order.

In a statement here, the CITU said it was surprising the company resorted to such action without consulting the Labour Ministry or any tripartite machinery.

The Ministry should direct the company to immediately withdraw the decision.
