Kumble optimistic about recovering

Principal Correspondent

Bangalore: Anil Kumble expressed optimism about recovering from a shoulder strain well ahead of the second Test at Mohali from Friday. “The shoulder is getting better. There is still three more days to go for the next Test and we are monitoring it closely,” the Indian skipper said here on Monday.

Meanwhile his rival counterpart Ricky Ponting said that his team felt good in negating Kumble’s guiles.

“Anil knows how to bowl on these pitches and it is his home ground and to negate him was a big plus.

“I had a word with Anil and he said it (the shoulder) had something like tendinitis but he did not seem concerned and seemed fine,” Ponting said.
