BELLARY: Power supply in Bellary city and surrounding villages was disrupted since Sunday evening following a fire accident that occurred in the sub-station here. A transformer in the sub-station on the Sangankal Road caught fire as a result of which power supply was cut off. After that, engineers of the Electricity Department successfully restored electricity supply by making alternative arrangements. However, around 40 villages had to go without power the whole night. To enable them to undertake repair work, which was carried out till Monday, power supply disruptions were frequent.
