Call to settle stir

KOZHIKODE: The Kozhikode taluk unit of the All-Kerala Retail Ration Dealers’ Association has called upon the authorities to settle the labour dispute at the Food Corporation of India (FCI) godown at West Hill here.

Taluk union secretary T.K. Ashokan said if the workers’ strike was not settled immediately, it would cripple the distribution of rice through the PDS outlets. Rice stored at the godown should reach wholesale dealers and the Civil Supplies Corporation, he said. The dealers also called upon District Collector A. Jayathilak.
