Traffic curbs today

Kozhikode: Vehicular traffic has been regulated in the city on Tuesday following the programmes of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha L.K. Advani.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (Traffic) V. Prasannan Nair said here on Monday that the traffic would be regulated on the Kannur road from morning. Parking of vehicles on Kannur road and Wayanad road has been strictly prohibited throughout the day.

Vehicles coming to city from Kannur side should take the deviation from West Hill Chungam and proceed along East Hill- Karaparamba-Eranhipalam route. Vehicles going to Kannur, Vadakara, Kuttiyadi, Balussery, Narikunni, Vellimadukunnu should deviate from Kannur road to Y.M.C.A. Cross Road and enter Wayanad road to reach Eranhipalam. Vehicles should take the Kannur road-Gandhi road-Overbridge instead of the C.H. Flyover after 10 a.m.

Students studying in schools, polytechnic and engineering college at West Hill Chungam Junction, Gandhi Road, Kannur Road Junction areas should reach their educational institutions before 9 a.m. Traffic will be regulated on the Wayanad road and Thondayad Bypass from 4 p.m. Vehicles coming from Kunnamangalam should deviate from Malaparamba and proceed along the Florican Road- Karaparamba-West Hill route to reach Kannur road. Vehicles coming from Narikunni and Balussery to the city should take the Karaparamba-West Hill-Kannur road.

Those vehicles proceeding to Narikunni, Balussery, Kakkody side should take the Kannur road- West Nadakkavu-Charkkorathukulam-East Hill- Karaparamba route.

Similarly vehicles coming from Ramanattukara via Thondayad Bypass to reach the city should take the Feroke-Meenchanda Mini bypass- Arayadathupalam- Eranhipalam route.

Vehicles proceeding to Palazahi and Perumanna from the city and vice versa will have no restrictions.

Entry of vehicles will be prohibited to Mavoor road junction from Rajaji road junction.
