Sister’s canonisation celebrated

NEW DELHI: Special prayers were held across the Capital on Sunday as Sister Alphonsa was canonised as a saint by Pope Benedict XVI at a function in Vatican. Hailing her for becoming the first Indian woman to be canonised, the Catholic community described her as an inspiration for Indians to follow.

They took out religious processions in many parts of the Capital and the NCR.
