Good win for Sriskandarajah

CHENNAI: On a wet Sunday that saw several riders lose their grip on the asphalt, Sriskandarajah and Sudhakar Kesavan recorded invaluable wins for Team Anya in round four of the Ucal Rolon National Racing championship at the Madras Motor Race Track. A downpour ensured that only eight of the scheduled races were held.

Veteran racer and pole leader Sriskandarajah underlined his comeback by claiming the chequered flag in the opening race of the day in the Group Dfour-stroke 165 cc category.

Sudhakar Kesavan, competing in the Group D four-stroke 165 cc (intermediate) class, had a memorable outing as he registered his first ever win in the first race. He was followed closely by V. Sameer and Emmanuel Clarke.

In the Group D four-stroke 130 cc (novice) class, Sarath Kumar reasserted his dominance over the other riders by nailing both the races. He staved off respectable competition from Alok Shashidhar and S. Ravi, both of whom finished second and third respectively in the two races.

The results:

Expert class: Group-D four-stroke 165 cc: Race-1: 1. Sriskandarajah, 2. K. Rajani, 3. Harry Sylvester.

Intermediate class: Group-D four-stroke 165 cc: Race-1: 1. Sudhakar Kesavan, 2. V. Sameer, 3. Emmanuel Clarke.

Novice class: Group-D four-stroke 130 cc: Race-1: 1. S. Sarath Kumar, 2. Alok Shashidhar, 3. S. Ravi; Race-2: 1. S. Sarath Kumar, 2. Alok Shashidhar, 3. S. Ravi.

Group-D two-stroke 165 cc: Race-1: 1. S.Vinoth, 2. Sumit Lucas T, 3. A. Gowri Shankar; Race-2: 1. Sumit Lucas T, 2. A. Gowri Shankar, 3. R. Karthik.

Mopeds (upto 65 cc): Race-1: 1. K. Umesh Babu, 2. A. Vinoth, 3. R. Ashok Kumar; Race-2: 1. A. Vinoth, 2. K. Umesh Babu, 3. Ashok.
