Jajpur: A self-proclaimed godwoman in the district has alleged that she was criminally assaulted by a temple priest a month ago, even as the rape case of a nun in strife-torn Kandhamal remains untackled. Acting on a complaint filed by the ‘godwoman’ that she had been raped, the judicial magistrate (first class), Chandikhol, has directed the police to investigate the charge. Police had registered a case on Saturday and was investigating into the complaint by the 55-year-old, who alleged that a priest of the temple and its trustee had forced themselves on her about a month ago when she was staying in the temple, located on the banks of river Brahmani near Jaraka under Dharmasala police station in the district. The complainant also alleged that as the matter became public, she was thrown out of the temple, police said adding the two accused were absconding. Superintendent of Police D S Kuttey said the sub divisional police officer was investigating the case. – PTI
