Agra: The kingpin of a notorious gang carrying a reward of Rs.20,000 on his head was killed along with an accomplice in an encounter with the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force, police said on Sunday. Veeru Singh, who headed the Durgesh Jatav gang, and an unidentified aide were killed in the gunfight on Saturday night, STF official V.S. Tyagi said. “We received the had got information late Saturday night that Veeru is coming to the city with an intention to commit crime,” the official said. Several cases of murder and attempt to murder were registered against Veeru Singh.
