Letters to the Editor
The editorial “Political gamble” (October 11) has clearly brought the irony of the Telangana Rashtra Samiti’s attempts to align itself with the Telugu Desam Party given the latter’s longstanding position on the issue of statehood. The TDP’s volte-face has surprised many in the State. The change of heart is suspect as it has not given any cogent reason why it has decided to support the idea. Even when the TRS agitation for a separate Telangana was at its peak, the TDP was resolute in opposing the idea. What prompted it now to change is perhaps the undiminished chief ministerial ambitions of Mr. Chandrababu Naidu. C. Sivaiah, Visakhapatnam
