Wall collapse: BJP demands compensation

HYDERABAD: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has sought compensation from the government as well as the builders for the kin of nine Palamoor labourers who died at Nizampet when a wall of the building under construction fell on them on Thursday.

BJP State president Bandaru Dattatreya who along with senior party leaders S. Malla Reddy and B. Shyamsunder Goud visited the Gandhi mortuary to console the families, demanded that the government pay Rs. 5 lakh and the builders Rs. 15 lakh to every famly.

Inquiry urged

Mr. Dattatreya said the 10 acres land in survey no 332 where the incident occurred was owned by the government and an inquiry should be instituted to apprehend the officials who sanctioned permission for construction. He demanded that farmers involved in agriculture in these lands be given pattas immediately.
