Sloth bear dead

Thiruvananthapuram: A male sloth bear at the city zoo - Ravi, aged over 30 - died on Saturday afternoon. Zoo Director Elcy George said a post mortem examination revealed haemorrhage in the animal’s brain. The carcass was subsequently burnt. The bear, procured from circus troupe, was brought over to the city zoo from Mysore in 1993. The zoo now has two female sloth bears and a male, left. — Staff Reporter
