Technique measures blood flow, indicates blockages Coronary tube blockages as low as 20 p.c. detectable
HYDERABAD: A subsidised cardiovascular diagnosis camp was organised by Jainam Jayati Shasanam Seva Samiti (JJSSS) using a new equipment that the organisers claim can detect coronary artery blockages.
The technique known as three-dimensional cardiovascular cartography (CCG) is a non-invasive procedure. It was conducted by a Thane-based naturopath Hemachandra Mathure and his team.
Explaining the functioning of the equipment, Mr. Mathure said,
“It measures the blood flow to the various regions of the heart. If there is a significant reduction of blood flow, it indicates blockage in blood vessel.” He claimed the process has a sensitivity and specificity of more than 92 per cent and could detect coronary tube blockages as low as 20 per cent.
According to one of the organisers Ravi Kumar Jain, the camp will be on for four days till Tuesday and will be offered at a subsidised rate for the public.
