HYDERABAD: A bust-size statue of Sarvodaya leader Jayaprakash Narayan was unveiled by Shravan Kumar, Chief Whip of the Janata Dal (United) in the Bihar Assembly, at the Kukatpally Housing Board Colony Main Road on Saturday to mark his 107th birth anniversary. K.V. Subbaiah, president of the party’s State unit, presided over the function which was attended among others by B. Satyanarayan Reddy, former Governor. K. Prabhakar Reddy, former Home minister, P. Janardhan Reddy, former MLA, Pratyush Nandan, national president, Janata Dal youth wing, K. Pratap Reddy, senior High Court advocate, K. Chandrasekhar, general secretary, Samata Party, S. Satyanarayana, general secretary, Lok Janashakti Party, and others. Mr. Subbaiah said holding of the statue-unveiling function, the Kadapa Janata Dal (United) district workers’ meeting and the 41st death anniversary of Ram Manohar Lohia in the evening on October 12 at Kadapa were intended to unite all the old associates of Jayaprakash Narayan and activists of the Lohia Vichar Manch, with a view to strengthening the party organisation.Meanwhile, the Andhra Pradeh Sarvodaya Mandal met here in connection with Jayaprakash Narayan’s jayanti with C.V. Chary in the chair.
