Ludhiana: Ludhiana, an industrial hub of Punjab, will soon be developed as an ultra modern city, Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal said here on Saturday. The master plan for planned growth of the city has been finalised and Ludhiana will soon become an ultra modern city not only in Punjab but in the entire country, he said. Mr. Badal handed over a cheque for Rs 40 crore to Mayor Hakam Singh for execution of several development schemes in the city. The Chief Minister said a sum of Rs 240 crore has been earmarked for various sewerage schemes in Ludhiana and asked Municipal Councillors to ensure proper utilisation of funds in their wards.
