‘Return to value-based politics’

Special Correspondent

BANGALORE: Janata Dal (United) State unit president and MLC M.P. Nadagouda has said that it was time for those who believed in the kind of politics practised by the late Jayaprakash Narayan to come together to fight communal and power-hungry forces for the cause of strengthening value-based politics.

He was speaking at Jayaprakash Narayan’s birthday organised by the party here on Saturday.

Tracing the political history since Emergency and the vital role played by the late Sarvodaya leader in safeguarding the democracy, Dr. Nadagouda claimed that of all political parties in the country only the Janata Dal (U) had the moral fervour to talk of the values espoused by the late leader.

General secretary of the party G.K.C. Reddy, the former MLC Michael Fernandes and the former Mayor of Bangalore Putte Gowda spoke.
