Local bodies told to prepare labour budget

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The government has issued guidelines for preparing the labour budget and action plan for the National Rural Employment Guarantee Programme (NREGP) for the next financial year.

Local Administration Minister Paloli Mohammed Kutty said in an official release here on Saturday that the Centre would sanction funds for NREGP only on the basis of the labour budget. Grama panchayats would have to prepare an action plan about the jobs to be taken up next year and also evolve a picture of the number of mandays that could be created.
