TIRUPATI: The exhibition-cum-sale of educational CDs and VCDs, organised by Dove Multimedia Pvt. Limited at Balaji Bhavan (adjacent to Hotel Kalyan Residency) here received good residence. This is the third in the series of exhibitions after Visakhapatnam and Guntur, while a similar event is simultaneously on at Nellore Town Hall. With classroom teaching witnessing a paradigm shift from blackboard to computer console, all the stakeholders in a child’s education viz., educational institutions, syllabus content providers and parents have, of late, realized the importance of “e-literature”. Claimed to be the largest-ever exhibition of “edutainment” CDs and VCDs to be held in Tirupati, the event has become a ‘must-visit’ for the computer-savvy. The fabulous discount of 20-50 p.c. offered on select titles is irresistible bait. Exhaustive arrayUnder the title ‘Pebbles’, the children’s section has an exhaustive array of CDs on rhymes, pre-school activities, epics like Ramayana and Krishnavatar, traditional bunch of stories such as Panchatantra, Jataka, Birbal, Tenali Rama, Aesop tales and English fairy tales. Message-oriented titles like Vivekananda, Ramakrishna, Life and Message of Gandhi etc. are also on display.For those preparing for competitive exams, there is sufficient material available on UPSC, GRE, GMAT, IIT and AIEEE, besides CDs on encyclopedia and dictionary. Titles on personality development, time management, sales management, interior design, readymade home plans are an instant hit with the youth. In the ‘software tutors’ and publishing sections, discs on Word, Excel, Java, Photoshop, Corel Draw, design studios, word processors and fonts for Indian language typing are on offer. International brands like Discovery Channel, BBC, Microsoft, DK and Readers Rabbit also find a place in this vast section on science. These apart, there are CDs on horoscope, aerobics, crossword, maps, general knowledge, games, Sudoku, pregnancy & childcare, music, recipes, historic places etc. The expo ends on October 14.
