CHENNAI: St. Joseph’s Engineering College won the women’s ball badminton and volleyball titles in the State-level inter-collegiate Shri Isahri Velan memorial rolling trophy tournaments which concluded here on Friday. The Vice Chancellor of Vels University, Ishari K. Ganesh, gave away the prizes. Inter-school cricketThe Don Bosco-MRF inter-school cricket tournament will be held from October 13 to 25 at the Don Bosco Matriculation School, Egmore. This was announced at a press conference on Friday by R. Vijayakumar, Head of Don Bosco’s Physical Education department. Tournaments in two age groups, under-13 and under-11, will be played, featuring 16 and 14 schools respectively. The tournament will be fought in a knock-out format, and matches will be 20-overs-a-side. “There are a lot of tournaments for under-15 players and upwards. This tournament is a good opportunity for younger cricketers to show their talent,” said Vijayakumar. Last year, St. Bede’s and Santhome HSS were winner and runner-up respectively in both age categories.
