Mental illness awareness drive

NEW DELHI: World Mental Health Week celebrations organised by the Department of Psychiatry at Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital here ended on Friday.

An awareness drive was conducted in the out-patients department of the hospital. People were informed about mental illness and asked to bring such people for treatment to the department.

The week, which began with a walk from the hospital to India Gate on October 5, concluded on Friday with the participants undertaking a pledge to help and rehabilitate mentally ill persons.

Another highlight was a three-day mental health camp organised by the department at Kathputli Colony near Pandav Nagar.

Information kiosk

To mark World Mental Health Day on Friday, an information kiosk was inaugurated at the hospital.

The kiosk will provide information about mental retardation, cerebral palsy, autism and multiple disabilities.
