Youth murdered near his house crime notes briefly

BANGALORE: A group of people murdered a 21-year-old youth near his house on Ramanjaneya Road in Hanumanthanagar on Friday.

Vinay Kumar, a resident of Javare Gowda Road in Gavipuram, was chased and attacked with machetes and wooden sticks.

Vinay Kumar died on the spot.

Srinivas, the victim’s uncle, said Kumar was attacked while he was on his way to wash his car parked near his house.

Relatives blamed the police for Kumar’s death, saying no action had been taken against three men — Manju, Mahesh and Putta — who had attacked him on October 5.

His parents had filed two police complaints in this regard, one on October 5 and the other on October 9.

“The accused were encouraged by the police inaction and attacked him again,” Mr. Srinivas said.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) S. Ravi said: “The reason for both the attacks has not been mentioned in the complaints. We are investigating it. We are looking for the accused.”

Run over

A 55-year-old employee of Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike was killed when he was run over by a lorry on BTM Layout Ring Road on Friday morning.

The police said Marimuttu died on the spot.

The MICO Layout traffic police have registered a case and arrested the driver of the lorry.
