CHANDIGARH: Rich tributes were paid to CPI (M) leader Prithvi Singh -- who passed away recently -- at a condolence meeting held in Hissar on Wednesday. CPI (M) general secretary Prakash Karat described the departed leader as “the initial source of inspiration and strength of the Left movement in Haryana”. He said Comrade Prithvi Singh was a “true Communist who was always among the people in all their struggles”. He hoped that his “memories” and his “indomitable” legacy would help in building a strong movement in Haryana. The condolence meeting was presided over by Haryana CPI (M) secretary Inderjit Singh who spoke at length about the work and life of the late leader and described him as an extraordinary person and leader of masses.
