2 naxals killed

KORAPUT: Two naxalites, including a woman, were shot dead by the police in a joint combing operation of police personnel from Orissa and Andhra Pradesh at Mulamada village in Bandhugaon block of Koraput district around 12.30 pm on Friday. The 24-year-old woman was identified as Jyoti from Srikakulam district in the neighbouring Andhra Pradesh. She was an active member in the Area Sub Committee of Koraput Divisional Committee of the naxals and was involved in many murder cases, Deepak Kumar, Koraput SP, said. While the identity of the other person was yet to be established, the police recovered a revolver and one kit bag from the scene.
