Kerala to host National Games
Pune: Kerala will host the 35th edition of the National Games next year, while Goa will be the venue in 2011, IOA President Suresh Kalmadi said on Friday.
“We were told that Kerala has completed the formalities so today at the AGM we have decided to hold the National Games in Kerala in 2009. Goa will be the venue for the 2011 edition,” Kalmadi told PTI after being elected as the IOA President for the fourth term in succession.
This is for the second time that Kerala will be hosting the National Games. In 1987, Kerala had hosted the 27th chapter of the National Games.
The main events will be held in Thiruvananthapuram, while Kochi and Kozhikode will organise some of the events. —PTI
