Congress team to visit Assam

NEW DELHI: The Congress on Friday announced that a three-member committee headed by Mukut Mithi, former Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister, will visit Assam to assess the situation following last week’s communal violence.

Union Minister of State for Home Shakeel Ahmed and Malda MP A.H. Khan are the other members that will visit the State on October 11 and 12. Mr. Ahmed said Congress president Sonia Gandhi asked the panel to submit its report by October 15.
