Seminar on conversion

BANGALORE: The Karnataka Rajya Dalit Sangharsh Samiti (KRDSS) is organising a State-level seminar on “Conversion is our right”, here on October 14. Addressing presspersons here on Friday, State KRDSS convener Lakshminaryana Nagawara said there had been many attacks on churches across the State after the BJP Government came to power.

Reacting to the demand by Visvesha Tirtha of Pejawar Math and others for a ban on conversions, Mr. Nagawara said that before demanding a ban, they should introspect on the reasons for Dalits and people from other backward communities changing their religion.

G.K. Govindarao, K. Marulasiddappa, Ki. Ram. Nagaraj and former Bangalore Police Commissioner S. Mariswamy will participate in the seminar. — Staff Reporter
