MCD to put ACs in community halls

NEW DELHI: Municipal Corporation of Delhi Standing Committee chairman Vijender Gupta on Friday said the civic body would be converting some multi-purpose community halls into air-conditioned ones so as to bring them at par with banquet halls.
Foundation stone
Speaking after laying the foundation stone of a multi-purpose community hall in Shakti Nagar here, Mr. Gupta said people would now be able to organise marriages and other social and cultural functions in the multi-purpose community halls at nominal charges. Mr. Gupta said a new community hall at Sawda Ghewara will be inaugurated on Saturday and the foundation stone of a multi-purpose community hall would be laid in Sector 3 of Rohini the same day.
