NSD celebrating golden jubilee

Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: To mark its golden jubilee, the National School of Drama’s “Sanskar Rang Toli” (Theatre in Education Company) is organising “Jashn-e-Bachpan” and “Bal Sangam” festivals here simultaneously.

The ten-day “Jashn-e-Bachpan” (National Theatre Festival for Children) festival was inaugurated at Abhimanch auditorium in Bahawalpur House on Friday. It was followed by the performance of “Panchtantra” by Ranga Sri Little Ballet Troupe from Bhopal.

“Jashn-e-Bachpan” showcases the works of theatre groups and institutions working with and for children. The groups represent various regions and languages from across the country. The festival will see the participation of a theatre group from abroad.

The six-day “Bal Sangam” (National Festival/Mela of Folk and Traditional Arts by Children) festival starts at the National School of Drama this Sunday. It will have performances by children from the rural areas of various regions.
