Achiever: Padmini Suresh displaying her award inUdhagamandalam on Friday.
Udhagamandalam: ‘My resolve to work for the betterment of the society and in the process achieve my personal goals have been strengthened,’ said Udhagamandalam-based educationist Padmini Suresh who was one of the recipients of the 2008 Indian Achievers Forum (IAF) awards.
‘Emerging India’
The ceremony was held at Thailand and organised by the IAF in association with the India-Thai Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development Forum. The theme was ‘Emerging India’.
Ambition
Stating that such recognition is not only gratifying but also fuels ambition and makes one aim higher, she told The Hindu here on Friday that the IAF recognises achievements that benefit enterprises and communities.
Selection
Awards are given in different categories like Industry and Trade, Banking, Corporates, Health, Education etc. Selections are based on a set criteria.
Paper
Ms.Suresh, the Founder-Principal of the Oxford Continental School had submitted a paper on, ‘Primary Education in Emerging India’.
She was conferred the International Achievers Award for Women Entrepreneur in the field of education and her role in various service activities. The Indian Ambassador to Thailand Latha Reddy gave away the award.
