72 held for running betting racket

NEW DELHI: Seventy-two people have been arrested for allegedly running a betting racket at New Usmanpur in the Capital.

Acting on a tip-off, a police team mounted a raid at a house in F-Block on Wednesday and smashed the racket being run allegedly by Pushpa, wife of a registered bad character named Ramesh.

The police claim to have seized Rs.8,250 in cash, a calculator and a cell phone.
