Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: Three young men have been arrested for allegedly injuring a television journalist during a robbery attempt in Andrews Ganj here earlier this month. The accused -- Noor Ahmed, Mohammed Yasin and Danish -- were arrested near Deer Park in Hauz Khas on Wednesday following a tip-off. Gang leader Noor has earlier been arrested for involvement in robbery cases in the Jama Masjid area, the police said. The three along with their accomplice Anis Ahmed, who is still absconding, allegedly accosted Saurav Misra, who works with the sports division of Zee News, at the Andrews Ganj bus stand on October 4 evening and tried to snatch his mobile phone at knife-point. When Saurav raised an alarm, the accused attacked him with a knife and sped away . The gang was also allegedly found to be involved in a robbery at Hauz Khas on September 27.
