Municipality notification on banners in Theni

Staff Reporter

THENI: The Theni Municipality has issued fresh guidelines on installation of banners in public places within the municipal limits.

Persons or companies who wish to install banners in public places must submit application in this connection to the local body, according to R. Murugesan, Commissioner for Theni Municipality.

The application would be forwarded to the Collector for necessary processing and approval.

After getting approval from the Collector’s office, the municipality will give a registration number to each banner.

The banner must carry the number visibly at the time of installation.

With no prior intimation, the municipality will seize banners without registration numbers and initiate police action against the violators, he added.
