SLC to release players for IPL

Colombo: The controversy over the release of Sri Lanka players for next year’s Indian Premier League (IPL), which clashes with the England tour was on Thursday amicably resolved with Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) permitting them to participate in the Twenty20 tournament.

“It has been decided to release the players for next year’s IPL and send a full strength Sri Lankan cricket team to England for the one-dayers beginning on May 27, 2009,” a top SLC source said. — PTI
