Award for Padma Venkataraman

Chennai: The Rani Lady Meyyammai Achi birthday commemoration award will be conferred upon social worker Padma Venkataraman at a function to be held here on Saturday.

A.R. Ramaswamy, secretary of the Rajah Sir Annamalai Chettiar Memorial Trust, told presspersons that a panel of three judges had decided on Ms.Venkataraman to honour her extensive work in promoting the welfare of women and children. The award carries a cash prize of Rs.1 lakh.
