PRR I Phase work to start in December

Afshan Yasmeen

Bangalore: After dilly-dallying for more than three years over its ambitious Peripheral Ring Road (PRR) encircling the city, the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) is finally gearing up to invite global tenders for the project. Work on the 116-km PRR, which was expected to take off this month, will now commence in December. This is because the concessionaire agreement for the project, to be taken up on a public-private-partnership (PPP) basis, is yet to be finalised.

BDA Engineer Member B. Shivashankar told The Hindu the committee set up to prepare the agreement would finalise it in another two sittings.

“We have started the process and tenders for the project will be called shortly,” Mr. Shivashankar said.
