Students from schools in Kattur, Kalkandarkottai, Ponmalaipatti, Kotapattu and TVS Toll Gate were invited to the exhibition in which 1,500 stamps of railways in different parts of the world, heritage books, old time tables, commemorative coins, heritage model railway engines, and 350 kinds of toy trains were put up for display.

Students, said Mr. Syed, were enamoured by his collections made over 25 years. The public who had come to visit the Railway Workshop that was kept open in connection with the Ayutha Pooja also turned up to the exhibition in large numbers.

They spent time watching the remote-controlled working models and electronic models of the toy trains. Chief Workshop Manager, Railway Workshops, Golden Rock, S. Rengarajan inaugurated the exhibition in the presence of other senior officials.

Mr. Syed said he was eager to exhibit his collections free of cost in connection with the Children’s Day celebrations. The organisers only have to arrange for the venue and transport. Mr. Syed could be contacted at the dial of 94441 87036.
