Country-made guns seized, three held

THENI: A special police team arrested three persons and seized 16 country-made guns during a surprise raid at Valiparai in the Varushanadu hills.

Deputy Inspector-General of Police Amaresh Pujari here on Tuesday identified those arrested as P. Anbazhagan of Gandhigram, Ramar of Varushanadu and Sonai of Karunakkamuthuanpatti. There were several cases against Sonai. While three guns were seized from them, another 13 were found hidden on a farm owned by Anbazhagan. — Staff Reporter
