BJP hits out at TRS for alliance

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: BJP leader Bangaru Laxman hit out at the TRS-CPI(M) alliance and accused the regional party of evincing more interest in winning seats rather than striving for a separate State.

At a press conference here on Monday after the conclusion of his ‘Telangana sankalp yatra’, which traversed through five districts covering 42 Assembly constituencies, he said the response far exceeded the expectations. It was successful in sending out the message that Telangana could be achieved only through the party. Criticising the TRS for seeking to ally with the CPI (M) and the TDP, which favoured a unified State, he said it would not be possible to isolate the BJP in the 2009 elections.
