Trade unions agitate for unemployment dole

TIRUCHI: The members of the INTUC, INRLF and TCTU trade unions jointly staged a demonstration in front of the Collectorate here on Monday to press their nine point charter of demands. They demanded the government to initiated stringent action against the bank officials who refused to sanction educational loans. Their other demands included steps for the distribution of loans to the unemployed youths through the district industries centres, provision of 30 kg quality rice through the fair price shops, steps to check the price rise, selection of the beneficiaries of the various THADCO schemes through fair means.
