Recognition to B.Ed colleges: NCTE orders stayed

Legal Correspondent

HYDERABAD: Justice P.V.Sanjay Kumar of the High Court on Monday stayed the orders of the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) which withdrew the recognition of 14 B.Ed colleges in the State.

The judge was dealing with different writ petitions filed by these 14 colleges. The colleges challenged the orders passed by the authorities on September 29.

The cancellation orders referred to complaints and non-compliance of regulations regarding buildings, etc.

The managements of the colleges contended that the procedure prescribed for such drastic action has not been followed.
