Isha rural hospital

The Isha Foundation opened on Saturday a hospital at Alandurai as part of the Action for Rural Rejuvenation project.

The foundation said in a press release that the hospital would offer low-cost diagnostic and treatment facilities. The hospital would serve as a centre for child and geriatric care and also for the eradication of malnutrition in Alandur. To serve this purpose, the Isha Arogya Gramam project to cater to the medical needs of 30 villages was also launched on Saturday.

Orthopaedic camp

Richmond Hospital conducted a free orthopaedic camp on Sunday for people suffering from pain in the shoulder, hand, back, hip, knee and foot.

A press release from the hospital said that more than 700 people attended the camp and availed themselves of free consultation. Five persons were chosen for free arthroscopy surgery.

Mayor R. Venkatachalam and Deputy Mayor N. Karthik inaugurated the camp.
