    Corrections and Clarifications

[ The first paragraph in a report "15 terror suspects arrested" (October 7, 2008, page 1) was "The Mumbai police have arrested 15 new terror suspects since September 24, Joint Commissioner (Crime), Mumbai, Rakesh Maria told a press conference here on Monday. This brings the total arrests to 20." Others have reported that the statement was made by Mumbai Police Commissioner Hasan Gafoor. The reporter clarifies that the press conference was summoned by Mr. Gafoor to announce the arrest and he read out a police statement. All operational details and the details of the suspects, etc. were given by Mr. Rakesh Maria. While Mr. Gafoor gave a break up of the arrests, a categorical statement that "15" arrests were made after September 24 was made by Mr. Rakesh Maria. The reference to Mr. Gafoor in the report was edited out.]
