Andhra enters two finals

VIJAYAWADA: Andhra entered the finals of the both the boys’ and the girls’ segments in the 28th sub-junior ball badminton championship being held at Khaital (Haryana), according to information reaching here on Monday.

In the semifinals, Andhra boys defeated Tamil Nadu 29-23, 29-14, while Andhra girls struggled to beat Kerala 19-29, 29-9, 29-21.

In the final, Andhra will meet Hyderabad in the boys’ section, while the Andhra girls will clash with Tamil Nadu.

Big win for Andhra XI

Andhra XI scored a 203-run victory over Kerala XI in the three-day u-16 practice match at Siddhartha Medical College grounds here on Monday.

Chasing a target of 348 runs in 40 overs, Kerala managed to score 144 for three.

The scores: Andhra XI 310 and 173 for four bt Kerala XI 136 and 144 for 3 (Jackson 61 n.o.).

Krishna wins

Krishna beat Khammam 21-16 in the men’s final of the AP State senior inter-district netball championship that concluded at Khammam on Monday.

Nalgonda triumphs

Nalgonda defeated Krishna 5-1 in the final of the AP School Games Federation u-17 hockey championship that concluded at Nellore’s A.C. Subba Reddy Stadium on Sunday.

Sports meet

NSM Public School Old Students Association will organise a three-day sports meet in volleyball and athletics for school children from October 16 to 18 at Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium.
