Jawahar wins

DAVANGERE: Jawahar HSS (Neyveli) won the overall championship scoring 243 points in the eighth south zone CBSE schools’ swimming competition that concluded at the PSSEMR school, Tholahunese, near Davangere on Sunday.

Children from Tamil Nadu dominated the pool and as many as 15 new national records were created, nine by girls and eight by boys.

Tamil Nadu won 123 medals overall while host Karnataka was second with 41.

Kerala was third with 28 followed by Andhra Pradesh with five.
